Writing Mechanics

Students will build a solid foundation for writing by learning proper sentence structure, subject/verb agreement, punctuation, capitalization, subjects and predicates.

Paragraph Writing

Students build upon their mechanics skills with an understanding of paragraph structure, using topic sentences, supporting details, closing sentences, and transitions in expository, narrative, and persuasive paragraphs.

Essay Writing

Students add to their knowledge of mechanics and paragraph writing by learning to organize their ideas, use rough drafts, edit for content, proofread for mechanics and grammar errors, and revise their writing.
