Students will learn to write and revise their own complete sentences, with descriptive details. Gaining knowledge on the four sentence types as well subject-verb agreement, students will write sentences correctly, and with confidence.


Unit 1 – Completely Complete vs. The Fragment
Objective: The student will differentiate between a complete sentence and a fragment and write three complete thoughts.
Unit 2 – Sentences? Yes, sentences. – The Declarative and Interrogative Sentences.
Objective: The student will write declarative and interrogative sentences using the correct punctuation.
Unit 3 – Now, That’s a Sentence! – The Exclamatory and Imperative Sentences.
Objective: The student will write exclamatory and imperative sentences using the correct punctuation.
Unit 4 – A Touchy Subject
Objective: The student will use singular and plural nouns, as well as common and proper nouns, in the subject of a complete sentence.
Unit 5 – What Are You Doing? – Actions in the Sentence
Objective: The student will use action verbs in a complete sentence, as well having the subject and verb agree with one another.
Unit 6 – My Sentence Runneth Over! – Run-on Sentences
Objective: The student will identify and correct a run-on sentence.
Unit 7 – Describe This! – The Descriptive Sentence
Objective: The student will write descriptive sentences by using adjectives and adverbs in their sentences.
Unit 8 – Before You Go – Revising the Sentence
Objective: The student will edit, proofread, and revise sentences.
