ES – Elementary School Grammar
This course has been created for the youngest eager writers, starting at 2nd grade.
During the Grammar pre-sentence course, students will be introduced to the parts of speech, end punctuation, subject and predicates, commas, quotation marks, and punctuation of titles. Students will also learn to recognize basic capitalization rules and use proofreading strategies.

Students will learn to write and revise their own complete sentences with descriptive details. Gaining knowledge about the four sentence types, as well subject-verb agreement, students will write sentences correctly and with confidence.

ES2 – Elementary School Paragraphs
Students will learn the parts of a paragraph, as well as how to put them together to make a perfect paragraph. Learning to write different types of paragraphs and learning to write in chronological order, students will come away ready to start learning about essays.

ES3 – Elementary School Essays

This course introduces elementary students to longer forms of writing. It prepares students for essay writing by engaging them in the process of writing various types paragraphs such as expository, persuasive, and narrative. The culminating activity of the course is writing a five paragraph narrative essay.

MS – Middle School Basic Writing Mechanics
This eight-week course is the first of two courses focusing on “boosting the basics” at the middle school level. Basic Writing Mechanics allows students to strengthen their foundation writing skills. The course teaches the fundamentals of writing such as sentences vs. fragments, subjects and predicates, subject-verb agreement, and capitalization.

MS – Middle School Writing Enhancement
This eight-week course is the second of two courses focusing on “boosting the basics” at the middle school level. Middle School Writing Enhancement emphasizes the technical parts of writing, such as comma and semi-colon placement, compound sentences, words often confused, and capitalization. These are the areas in which many good, young writers who have creative talent often need reinforcement.

MS1 – Middle School Paragraphs
Students work on developing clear and precisely written paragraphs on a variety of topics. They create topic sentences, details, and closing sentences. Students also write expository, narrative, and descriptive paragraphs.

MS3 – Middle School Advanced Essay
Writing Today-The Advanced Essay helps students find their voice and produce essays that match style and media. Students can get confused since they write one way for standardized tests, a different way for school essays, and yet another way when they are chatting with their friends.

HS – High School Grammar, Usage, and Mechanics
This course focuses on reinforcing writing fundamentals at the high school level, including sentence structure, punctuation, capitalization, subject-verb agreement, paragraph structure, self-editing, and proofreading. High School Mechanics allows students to strengthen their foundation writing skills at a level that recognizes their maturity. The course teaches the basic building blocks of writing: the parts of and the different types of sentences and the structure of a paragraph.

HS1 – High School Essay Writing
The Essay Writing course explores the essay writing process from the pre-writing stage to the revision stage. Students will work weekly practicing and mastering each step of the writing process before moving on to the next step. This course will prepare students for writing essays for school assignments.
