The third president of the United States, Thomas Jefferson, is notable for many reasons. He helped add an enormous amount of land to the U.S. with the Louisiana Purchase. He founded the University of Virginia. And, of course, he authored the Declaration of Independence. If you will be doing a Thomas Jefferson unit study or a general presidential study, you may want to include this writing prompt activity. Remind your student how to use transitional words when writing paragraphs.
