Two courses. Two wildly exciting ways to master the writing process.
The narrative writing and informative writing courses at Time4Writing are both designed with advanced elementary writers in mind. In these two courses, students will thoroughly survey the five-step process of writing — prewriting, planning, drafting, revising, and editing — while exploring the captivating world of the animal kingdom.
In the Narrative Writing course, students will tap into both their analytical and creative sides as they research information about the wild animal of their choice then turn that animal into the central character of their own narrative. They will learn how story mapping, character development, and multiple drafts refine their research into the perfect animal tale.
In the Informative Writing* course, students will learn about an animal of their choosing by doing research and taking notes on what they discover. Then, they will share their discoveries in the form of a multimedia slideshow, building skills not only in written explanation, but in incorporating visual expression through use of popular presentation software.
*This course is designed for students with some technical know-how.
